It Felt Like 1999
It was date night.
I decided I would leave my phone behind.
I wondered if I would miss it.
We talked the whole drive.
And, I even went to grab my phone out of my purse a few times
before I remembered that I left my phone behind.
I interacted with with the sales associate
more than I would have if I wouldn’t have left my phone behind.
At dinner I was present.
I had chosen my absence.
And I even forgot that I left my phone behind.
Tomorrow I might find a time
to leave my phone behind.
